Who We Are
What dynamics shape events across diverse regions of the world? How do international relations operate within and between states? What are the political and social forces influencing global affairs, and how do they affect our nation? What can we learn from the experiences of those who have lived and worked abroad?
The World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley (WACMHV) invites those interested in these global questions to participate in expert-led talks, community discussions, and programs that engage young people in international issues.
Why Become a Member?
Our events—except for the annual Member Dinner—are free and open to the public. So why pay even our modest membership fee? Individual: $60 | Couple: $90? Your membership makes a real impact:
- Supports educational programs like Academic World Quest for high school students and the Student World Affairs Conference (SWAC) for regional college students.
- Helps us maintain affiliation with the World Affairs Councils of America, a national network promoting nonpartisan, educational programming and providing resources, topics, and opportunities for our community.
- Enables us to serve a broad regional area, including Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange Counties.
